Originally airing on Sky Atlantic in 2020, British crime drama Gangs of London gained huge popularity, going on to be renewed for a second series in 2022, leaving fans wanting more and more.
The popular series, which is based on the 2006 video game, stars the likes of Joe Cole, Colm Meaney and Lucian Msamati, and it’s gaining popularity all over again right now, thanks to Netflix adding it to their streaming platform.
Gangs of London is a British crime drama series created by Katie Ellwood and Brendan McNamara, which follows rival gangs and organised crime groups in London.
Following the shock murder of Finn Wallace, the head of London’s most powerful crime family, series one tells the story of the city being torn apart by a power struggle and the power vacuum that is created following his death.
Sky Atlantic say of the drama: ‘It doesn’t take long for rivals and snakes to swoop in and stake their claim on the city, with the whole underworld threatening to be torn apart with the efforts.
‘With enemies everywhere willing to take over, it’s now up to Finn’s eldest son, Sean, to take his father’s place and re-establish their family as a force to be reckoned with. But Sean’s rise to power comes at a cost not just in the UK, but internationally, with dozens of criminal sects all feeling the effects of the new leadership’.
